Its tranquil environment, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks. The surrounding forests are rich in biodiversity, home to avariety of flora and fauna, including Himalayan monals, musk deer, and rarealpine flowers. The lake's calm surface often reflects the surrounding trees andmountains, creating a picturesque setting that feels untouched and timeless. Deeply rooted in Hindu mythology and is believed to be the birthplace of LordGanesha. A small temple dedicated to Ganesha stands near the lake, attractingpilgrims seeking blessings and tranquility. According to legends, the lake wasonce visited by Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, adding to its spiritual aura.

TREK ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at Agora village (2,250m) – Trek to Bhebra (2,300m)

  • Trek Distance: 6 km
  • Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
  • Start from Agora village, crossing the Assi Ganga River.
  • The trail winds through forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine.
  • Overnight stay in tents at Bhebra, a quaint forest campsite.

Day 2: Bhebra to manjhi campsite (2,800m)

  • Trek Distance: 7 km
  • Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
  • Trek through beautiful alpine meadows and dense forests.
  • Reach the campsite at Manjhi, a small shepherd settlement with stunning mountain views.
  • Overnight stay in tents at Manjhi.

Day 3: Manjhi to Dodital Lake (3,024m)

  • Trek Distance: 4 km
  • Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
  • Continue trekking through alpine meadows and forested trails.
  • Arrive at the serene Dodital Lake, surrounded by dense deodar and oak trees.
  • Spend the evening exploring the lake and visiting the Ganesha Temple nearby,believed to be Lord Ganesha’s birthplace.
  • Overnight camping near the lake.

Day 4:Dodital to Darwa Pass Summit (4,150m) – Return to Dodital

  • Trek Distance: 7 km (round trip)

  • Early morning trek to Darwa Pass, offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the snow-capped peaks and distant valleys.

  • Enjoy the exhilarating experience before descending back to Dodital Lake.

  • Overnight stay near Dodital.

Day 5: Dodital to Agora Village – Departure

  • Trek Distance: 14 km
  • Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
  • Retrace your steps through Manjhi to Agora Village, soaking in the beauty of the trail.
  • End the trek at Agora, marking the completion of your adventure.
